PostSubject: Hello!   Thu 07 Jun 2012, 10:52 am

Hi, everyone, how do you do? I am Fumio from Tokyo, Japan. I am 47 years old, working as a translator. I happened to find her music from a tv Anime, "Detective Conan," and that is how I ended up knowing of her. I am happy to know that there is Aya's international community available! Thank you!

Thank you! Well, some of her lyrics, especially the ones from 2009 up to now, are extremely difficult to translate, and I have a deep respect for you and other members to translate her lyrics.

Some of her words do not make any sense at all--just playing with the words. She did not write in this way in her older poems.

I agree, the lyrics in the pamphlet are weird and quite meaningless per-sθ, even if Zero, starting another day, unreal and the final journey make perfect sense and I love them!

I wish you could translate the meaing of Kimi sarishiiyuuwaku, to me it is impossible to explain the concept and I'd love it if you could tell me both what sarishi and yuuwaku mean! Pleeease OTL

By the way you were at the concert?? Aw so we must have seen each other!! Which number were you?

PostSubject: Kimi Sarishi Yuwaku, meaning of the title   Fri 08 Jun 2012, 12:27 pm

OK, no problem at all. So, this means that you are living in Japan! I had 191.

"Kimi" means "you." "Sarishi" means "gone." Yuwaku means "seduction."

Except a few poems such as "Friends," , almost all the lyrics are dedicated to a man who broke Aya's heart when she was in teens. I mean he ripped her heart completely apart, and ever since then, her mind is stuck with him. (I have no idea who this is.) These words are in many ways, her own messages from her heart, and it is so pure that we are touched by her songs.

In this content, "Kimi" means "You," and she is referring to the man who broke her heart. "Sarishi" means "gone." In both, "you are gone." The last word "Yuwaku" is a "seduction." So, by combining these meanings, she meant in either one of the two or both.

First, she is still seduced by "you" who have already gone.

Second, she is seduced by someone, but seduction from "you" is stronger.

In content, you can take it in either way, but here is Aya's comment about this lyric.

付き合っていた人が去って一人になったら、今までになかった誘惑が新たに現れてきた。でも、結局゙君"との思い出がずっと忘れられなくて、やっぱり゙君"が一番だったという事を痛感している」

"After the man I dated was gone, there was a new "seduction" which was not with me before. But I realized that I couldn't forget "you," and was painfully convinced that "you" still remained the best. "

Naturally, "Kimisarishi Yuwaku" is a new combination of Japanese words which Aya personally invented. All the great poets in the past has created new expressions. And she is one of them.

PostSubject: Kimi Sarishi Yuwaku ( a preposition is missing.)   Sat 09 Jun 2012, 11:41 am

You made me think twice about this title. If she puts a preposition "after" in between Sarishi and Yuwaku, this title is clear to understand. That will be

   君去りし後の誘惑 Kimi sarishi atono yuwaku

"Seduction after You Are Gone"

This will make sense. The word "Yuwaku" is slightly weaker than "seduction" in English. I have a feeling that she eliminates "atono." It would not fit well in the music.

Thanks, seriously, thanks!!! You're right, it makes perfect sense if you add the preposition!
